JOINT Task Force (JTF) Central on Monday said that it raided a suspected training camp and bomb-making site being used by the Maute group in Lanao del Sur.

The lair, located in Marogong, Lanao del Sur, is reportedly being used by the remaining members of the group.

According to the JTF Central statement, the troops were able to dismantle the said lair.

The soldiers also recovered several high-powered weapons.

Maute is a radical Islamist group operating mostly in Central Mindanao.

Meanwhile, soldiers continue to guard the exit areas of the town as they try to flush out the remaining 40 members of the Maute group.

The Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) identified the suspects as Mastura Disomala, 43; Samen Mamasao, 23; and Moca Giambal, 25.

The CIDG said that Disomala is a former barangay chairman allegedly maintaining a private armed group linked to Daulah Islamiyah-Maute Group.

Former president Rodrigo Duterte declared in October 2017 that Marawi City had been freed from the Islamic State-inspired Maute group after a five-month siege, which resulted in over 1,000 deaths.
